Talk Show and Documentary Series Production for Africans In Sports
Africans In Sports
Background and Challenge
Africans In Sports was born out of a vision to tell the compelling stories of African athletes and unify the sports and cultures from countries across the African continent. The opportunity arose when a Nigerian benefactor, inspired by watching African players in the NBA, realized the importance of their unique upbringings and the need to share these stories with a broader audience. JSB Video joined Africans In Sports as co-founders and production partners, taking on the role of head of production to bring this dream to life.
Africans In Sports aimed to pioneer the next generation of African sports media by delivering exclusive interviews, documentaries, news, and more. The goal was to uncover what makes African athletes unique and to provide a platform where their stories could be shared and celebrated. The show’s format included in-depth interviews with athletes, providing insights into their journeys, challenges, and triumphs.

Solution and Execution
Over 2.5 years, JSB Video was instrumental in producing five seasons of the show. Our responsibilities included overseeing all aspects of production, from planning and shooting exclusive interviews and documentaries to editing and finalizing each episode. Hosted and voiced by Chris “COSeezy” Strachan, the show aimed to uncover what makes African athletes unique through in-depth interviews and compelling storytelling. We utilized our expertise in sports and entertainment media to ensure high-quality production and engaging content that resonated with viewers.
The production process was comprehensive and meticulous. It involved extensive pre-production planning, including research on athletes, scripting, and coordination of interview schedules. We traveled across various locations to capture authentic and compelling footage, ensuring that each story was told with the utmost respect and accuracy. Our team handled everything from camera work and sound recording to post-production editing and final touches, ensuring a polished and professional end product.
One of the significant challenges we faced was the logistical complexity of shooting in multiple locations across different countries. However, our experience and adaptability allowed us to manage these challenges effectively, delivering high-quality episodes on time. Additionally, our commitment to maintaining a consistent and engaging narrative throughout the series played a crucial role in its success.
